A Prayer for the Sister Who Seems Fine

When she's holding it together for everyone else, this prayer brings her to God and asks Him to make you the sister who shows up.

Lord, I'm bringing my sister to You this morning.

From the outside, she looks okay. She's the one who remembers everyone's birthday, answers every text, and keeps the house running. But You know what she carries when the house goes quiet. You know the tears she saves for the car.

Come close to her, Jesus. Closer than her worry. Closer than the voice that tells her she's failing.

Give her peace that doesn't depend on everything going right. Let her rest, really rest, without feeling guilty for it.

Remind her who she is. Not her to-do list. Not her mistakes. Not what someone said about her years ago. She is Your daughter, chosen and deeply loved.

Where her heart has cracked, make it whole again. Gently, in Your timing, the way only You can.

Surround her with people who are safe. Give her the courage to let one of them in.

And Lord, let me be one of those people. Help me notice when her "I'm good" doesn't sound good. Help me make the call, bring the coffee, and stay a little longer.

She doesn't have to carry this by herself. You never asked her to.

In Jesus' name,

Amen.

Galatians 6:2 ESV

Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

A Gentle Reminder

Checking on her is not interrupting. Sometimes it's the answer to her prayer.
